Mrs Butler was a significant friend to our family, the Barkers in Oxford Road, Ipswich. She was generous, kind and supportive and would regularly phone and visit our mother at home to catch up on the gossip and share their experiences. I suspect that they were in contact on a weekly basis and these calls from her friend, always made our mother smile - I could hear her laughing two rooms away. Mrs Butler was ever present during my childhood and pivotal to the Caribbean community in Ipswich, whenever I attended a party, it was almost guaranteed that Mrs Butler would be there. It's a shame to hear about her passing but I know that God has welcomed her home after her job as his servant, was well done. She will be sadly missed but not forgotten. Rest in Peace.
